{"id":157,"date":"2010-11-18T18:37:59","date_gmt":"2010-11-18T23:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.canzoneridentistry.com\/?p=157"},"modified":"2016-07-22T10:16:46","modified_gmt":"2016-07-22T15:16:46","slug":"what-should-you-do-if-your-tooth-gets-knocked-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canzoneridentistry.com\/blog\/what-should-you-do-if-your-tooth-gets-knocked-out\/","title":{"rendered":"What should you do if your tooth gets knocked out!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the biggest problems with saving a tooth that has been knocked out (the dental term is \u201cavulsed\u201d) is dealing with the chaos that ensues.\u00a0 People are all trying to give advice and there is usually a moderate amount of bleeding and pain with the trauma.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 First save any tooth that has been knocked out and bring it to your dentist as soon as possible.\u00a0 The longer you wait the less chance the tooth can be reimplanted.\u00a0 Only handle the tooth by the crown (chewing edge).\u00a0 Try to replace the tooth in the socket.\u00a0 Make sure it is facing in the right direction.\u00a0\u00a0 Do not try and force it into the socket.\u00a0 If it doesn\u2019t go back into place easily, then it\u2019s better to bring it to your dentist.\u00a0 Place the tooth in a container and cover it with milk or saliva.\u00a0 The tooth can also be carried between the lower lip and gum or under the tongue.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Once a tooth has been reimplanted a dentist will usually stabilize it by attaching it to the teeth next to it.
